Stay positive

A quick lesson on weeds…
Weeds compete fiercely with all types of plants (flowers, vegetables, fruits, etc.) for water, sunlight, and nutrients.
Weeds take these critical elements of plant health, and leave them, starved, weak, and susceptible to disease.

Have you had a negative thought today?
Weed sprouted.

“I wish I was…”
Weed sprouted.

“Why does that person… and I don’t?”
Weed sprouted.

“I deserve…”
Weed sprouted.

Every negative thought you have gives birth to a weed in your mind that has the same effect as a weed in the ground.

It’s only purpose it to spread.
To consume.
To weaken.
To destroy.

Like a garden full of weeds that creates inferior plants, a mind full of negativity will produce inferior feelings.

Feelings that will make you feel lousy, jealous, sorry for yourself, and all sorts of other nasty feelings.

And the more you let negative thoughts linger in your mind, the more they will fester, the more they will grow, and the more they will lead you to think negatively about other things.

It’s a vicious cycle, which is why it’s so important to rip a negative thought out of your mind as soon as it enters, like a weed ripped out of the ground.

You rip it out by taking your mind away from it.

Don’t linger on it.
Don’t feed it another thought.
Stop it as a seed.

Negativity is straight from hell.

It’s straight from the devil trying to tear you down.

It’s trying to get you to believe you have no strength, when you’re full of strength through Christ.

It’s trying to put you on the bench, when God has given you specific talents that have made you more than capable to play on the field.

Its aim is to tell you “you can’t” or “you aren’t,” when you completely can and you fully are.

Don’t fall for the devil’s deceitful trap.

You control your thoughts!
You choose what you think about!

Take control.
Take your thoughts captive, as God calls us to in 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV), “… we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Use that captive mind to focus on the good, as God calls us to in Philippians 4:8 (NIV), “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Live God’s Word, and watch good come from it.

Only good comes from listening to God.
Stick with God’s direction.
