Eyes on Jesus

When something shifts in your life, and creates some uncertainty, worry will try to strike.

But we have protection in a God-given weapon.
We have a sword that slays worry.
We have God’s Word.

But like any weapon, it’s not helpful if it’s in storage.
You need to have it handy.
You need to use it.

Make it easy…
Create a collection of verses that speak to you…
Verses that give you confidence…
Verses that give you comfort.

So, when worry strikes…
You’re ready.

You’re ready to refresh your mind with truth.
You’re ready to flush that worry away.
You’re ready to refocus.

When Peter stepped out of the boat, he was able to walk on water when his eyes were on Jesus.
(Matthew 14:29)

But when his eyes left Jesus, and his focus shifted to his surroundings, worry struck.
(Matthew 14:30)

And his faith sank.
And so did he.

It’s a wonderful example of how we’re always better off when our focus is on Jesus.

There will always be situations that can fuel worry if that’s our focus.

Well the doctor said…
Well I don’t have experience in…
Well I don’t see how…

Your life isn’t based on what the worlds says.
Your life is based on what God says.

Your life isn’t limited to logic.
Your life has power…
Through Christ.

You have heavenly help.
You have Jesus.

Worry is going to get flipped around and be a testimony of God’s goodness.

You keep your eyes on Jesus.
That’s the key.

-Steinar

“But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
(Jeremiah 17:7-8, NLT)
