Cut your comparing

A tranquil mind brings life to one’s body, but jealousy causes one’s bones to rot. -Proverbs 14:30, ISV

People everywhere are filled with jealousy, and as Proverbs 14:30 above tells us, it does nothing but eat at us.

Rid yourself of this poison by ridding yourself of comparison.

Comparison is the enemy of contentment.
Comparison is self-inflicted misery.
Comparison fuels jealousy.
Don’t feed that fire.

Run your own race!
Stay focused on your own story.

People are constantly comparing their chapter 2 to someone else’s chapter 7.

They’re farther along in their story, yet you’re feeling down because of what they have or what they’re doing.

Stay in your story!
Your story is what matters!
Your story is where God wants your attention!

Not to be saying “well I want it be in character 8 or 9.”
No book goes from chapter 2 to chapter 9.
It goes chapter by chapter.

You have things to go through to get you to where you’re going.
You have things that need to prepare you.

Don’t rush your story.
Enjoy your story.

Enjoy the day to day that’s laying the foundation of your story!
Keep your eyes looking forward.

A runner doesn’t win his/her race by looking to the left and to the right!

No!
He/she is looking forward!
Stay focused on what’s in front of you!

There may be an obstacle in the path of the person next to you that you slow down to look at like it’s a car crash on the side of the road.

No!
You don’t need to see that!
You don’t need to know that exists!
Looking at it is just a self imposed distraction that does nothing but slow you down.

Keep your vision straight!
Keep looking forward and you won’t be side tracked.

Keep looking forward, so you’re ready to jump the moment a hurdle comes in front of you.

Keep looking forward, so any hurdle you face, will soon be a hurdle facing behind you.

Keep focused on your race.
Keep focused on your story.
And you’ll keep watching your contentment, and fulfillment soar!
