Faith over feelings

You feel joy.
You feel stress.
You feel laughter.

You feel pain.
You feel conflict.
You feel love.

We’re full of feelings.

It’s beautiful to be able to feel.
Feelings give flavor to life.
Feelings are a gift.

But, feelings are fickle.
They’re situational.
They change.

Feelings matter.
But, feelings shouldn’t dictate your faith.
They shouldn’t direct your decisions.
They shouldn’t drive you.

You can feel God’s peace to do something.
But, feel scared to step forward.
Because it’s unfamiliar.
Because it’s unknown.

Feelings are about your experiences.
They’re about what you know.
They’re about you.

Faith is about who you trust.
It’s about truth.
It’s about God.

Feelings are from your flesh.
Peace, from your faith.

We’re called to walk by faith.
(2 Corinthians 5:7)

Walking by faith is putting faith above your feelings.
It’s trusting God, over your experiences.
It’s trusting God, over your smarts.

God is your anchor.
God is the only anchor in life.
God is gravity.

Without Him…
There’s only feelings.
There’s no truth.

Stick to truth.
Stick to God.
Stick to His Word.
Stick to His promises.
Stick to His peace.
Stick to prayer.

Stick to a house built on rock…
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.”
(Matthew 7:24, NLT)

Tell your feelings to sit in the back seat.
Faith is in your driver’s seat.
Hit the gas.
And go.
