Fuel your faith

There’s a lot of anxiety in this world.
People worry and wonder.

And the media perpetuates this; they pour fuel on that fire.
News and entertainment that’s extreme tends to get the most attention, which means the most money made.
So, that’s what gets made.

But, I want to encourage you to guard what you let into your mind.
Because what you consume becomes food for your mind.
It impacts what you think about.
It impacts how you feel.

If you give your attention to something that’s full of fear, that will seep into you.
And the more and more those type of things go into your mind…
The more and more it will negatively impact you.
You may not even realize it.

Everyone is grasping for your attention.
All forms of entertainment are built to be as addictive as possible to make as much money as possible.
99% don’t care about your well being.
They care about cash.

So, we’ve got to guard what we give our attention to.
Because what fills us, spills from us.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
(Proverbs 4:23, NIV)

Guarding your heart is guarding your mind!
We’re given this wisdom.
Let’s listen.

Let’s be conscious of what we consume.
Let’s not give time to anything and everything that looks interesting…
Anything that’s appealing.

Desserts are appealing, but too much sugar and you’ll feel lousy.
And so it is with what you read, watch, or listen to.

Feed yourself a steady stream of fear filled news, shows, or whatever…
Fearful feelings will follow.
You’re fueling that fire.

And the opposite is true.
Feed yourself a steady stream of uplifting, and encouraging things…
Your faith will be fueled.
That fire will burn.

That’s the fire we want roaring in you.
We want the fire of your faith to be blazing so hot and bright that when fear touches your faith it gets burned, scared, and runs away.
Give me that fire.

That’s why it’s so important to feed your faith every day.
That’s why it’s so important to prioritize time with God every day.
That’s why it’s so important to be selective in what you see.
It helps keep the temperature of your faith hot.
It helps protect your thoughts and feelings from fear.
It helps energize you.

Come on now.
Keep your faith hot.

Make sure you fill yourself with plenty of positivity…
Plenty of God.
