Nothing replaces time in the Word

We all want to learn.
We all want to understand.
We all want to grow.

And in that pursuit, we often turn to others — pastors, books, etc.

But, let’s not forget…
The ultimate teacher, the ultimate guide, the ultimate source of wisdom is God Himself.

And that means directly reading the Word of God yourself.

Yes, listen to sermons…
Yes, be part of Bible studies…
Yes, read devotionals…

But, let them be a supplement, not your main nourishment.

Don’t miss out on letting God speak directly to you, through His Word.

His Words are not just words on paper.

His Words are alive, and active…
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
(Hebrews 4:12, NIV)

The same verse will resonate with you in different ways, in different situations.

That’s the living Word of God.

It’s dynamic.
It’s personal.
It’s meant for you.

It will comfort you.
It will convict you.
It will guide you.
It will enlighten you.
It will inspire you.
It will strengthen you.
It will renew you.
It will fuel you.

So, don’t just depend on others to feed you.
Pick it up, read it, meditate on it, and get fed directly.

You don’t need to be a scholar.
You don’t need to understand everything in it.
Just open it, and read it.

The Holy Spirit will speak to you.
He’ll reveal things to you.
He’ll guide you.

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.”
(John 16:13, NIV)

So, I encourage you…
Make Bible reading a regular part of your routine.
Make it a priority.
Dig into it.

Read it, ready to hear.
You’ll hear.
