Feed your fire

When you meet some people, you know they’re special.
There’s a joy that exudes from them.
You can feel it.

It’s abundantly clear.
It’s undeniable.

Within a few minutes of conversation, you’ll find clues.
The source of their radiance isn’t a secret.
It’s woven into who they are.
It’s on display.

The answer is obvious.
It’s Jesus.

It’s always…
Jesus.

Nothing else has the ability to permeate someone’s soul so much that it shines through.
Only the joy of Jesus.
That’s it.

But, why is it only visible in some Christians?
Does Jesus give different portions?
Not at all.

Everyone’s light is as bright as their level of surrender.
Read that sentence again.
It’s worth it.

If you’re afraid of other people’s opinions…
If you’re hiding your faith…
It’s a small flame.

If you’re fully surrendered…
You’re burning bright.
You’re roaring.

Wherever you are on that spectrum…
You have a flame in you.
You have a fire.

That fire was lit when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior.

You want it to be a blaze?
Feed it.

Get in the Word, every day.
You’ll refresh your mind with God’s promises.
You’ll have a better day.
You’ll be wiser.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
(Psalm 119:105, NIV)

Get connected with other Christians.
You’ll be strengthened.
You’ll be sharper.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
(Proverbs 27:17, NIV)

Get plugged into a church.
It’s encouragement.
It’s fellowship.

“Therefore encourage one another…”
(1 Thessalonians 5:11, NIV)

And pray!

Make prayer the way you start your day…
Pray throughout your day.

It will make you less self-dependent, and more God-dependent…
You’ll have less stress.
It’s comforting.

So, my encouragement…
Feed your fire.

You’ll find yourself living a Christ-surrendered life.
You’ll find people asking…
“What’s the recipe?”

You’re going to shine brighter and brighter.
You’re helping souls into heaven.
You’re special.

Your blaze is brewing.
Feed your fire.
