Forget “what if”

We all have “what if” moments.
What if I had done this?
What if I hadn’t said that?

But, dwelling on the past, creates an attachment to it.
It’s handcuffing yourself to it.
It’s being bound by it.

You can expend all kinds of mental energy with “what if” thoughts…
But, nothing changes.

You’re like a hamster on a wheel, draining yourself, going nowhere.
There’s no benefit to it.

Let the past be the past.
Leave it with God.
Learn from it.
And move on.

God doesn’t want you to be stuck in the past.
He doesn’t define you by your past, so why should you?
His mercies are new every morning.
(Lamentations 3:22-23)

If God has forgiven you, how can you not forgive yourself?
Whatever it is, let it go.
Forgive yourself.
And move on.

It’s a new day.
It’s a new opportunity.
Treat it that way.

Whatever you may regret, it’s done.
It’s now a building block.
Think of it that way.

Your Heavenly Father is the Master Builder.
He’ll take all your past experiences, all your building blocks…
And turn them into something beautiful.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
(Romans 8:28, NKJV)

There are no “bad bricks”; no unusable experiences.
God will take it all, and He’ll make it good.
It’s what His Word says.
It’s a promise.

So, today, I want to encourage you…
Free yourself from any frustrations with past decisions.
Know that God will take it, and turn it around.
Good will come from it.

Trust God with it.
Let it go.

You’ll free your mind to focus on today, which will propel you forward.
You’ll fill yourself with peace.
Let it go.

And ask God for wisdom.
Ask Him to help you make every decision, a regret-free decision.
His wisdom is available. (James 1:5)
Just ask.
