Choose thankfulness

With social media, it’s easy to see the highlights of everyone’s life, and think…
“I want that.”

But, “I want that” is no way to live.

A life of “I want that” is a life riddled with jealousy.
It’s a road paved with bitterness.

Truth is, even if you got “that”, there’d be a next “that”, and a next “that”.
A thirst for what others have is a thirst that’s never quenched.

So, I want to encourage you…
If you have thoughts of “I want that”, switch those thoughts to “God, thank you that I have…”

You have so many blessings.
You have blessings that others would love to have.
They aren’t owed to you.
They aren’t guaranteed.
They are gifts.

Take time to realize them, and appreciate them.
Thank God for them.

Don’t choose jealousy.
Don’t choose envy.

Get your eyes off what others have, unto what you have.
Choose thankfulness.
It’s choosing joy.

It’s the choice God wants you to make…
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, NIV)

Choose it.
