Roots of trust

We know…
God knows all.

We know…
He knows best.

We know…
We should trust.

But sometimes we want to trust.
But it’s hard to trust.

It may be a stormy situation…
A situation that’s scary.

How is it some Christians can go through those situations with deep trust, while others have trust that seems to vanish?

Saying…
“I trust God.”

That’s wonderful.
But that’s just the start.
It’s the seeds.

Those seeds…
Need to be nurtured.

They need light.
That comes through giving God priority in your life.

They need water.
That comes through a close walk with Him.

Without that nurturing…
A choice to trust Him is just a hope that there’ll be no winds in your life.

Because when winds blow…
Seeds scatter.

And just like that…
Those who said, “I trust God”…
Have no trust.

We don’t want that.
We want to be someone whose trust runs so deep that when winds blow, like a thick tree…
We’re unmoved.

That’s powerful trust.
That’s trust that pleases God.
That’s deep faith.

So, let’s keep Him in His rightful place…
Right in the center of our life.

Our roots of trust…
They’ll grow deeper.

And deeper.
And deeper.

-Steinar

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
-Jeremiah 17:7-8, NLT
