Keep an eternal perspective

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” -1 Corinthians 2:9, NKJV

Try to comprehend that.

It’s mind blowing to think about.

The greatest things we could imagine for ourselves, no matter how extreme, can’t compare to what God has in store in heaven.

Take the greatest thing you could imagine for yourself, and multiply it by 100, multiply it by 1,000… it’s still something we can conceive and see in our minds… and it’s still nothing compared to what God has prepared for those who love Him.

It’s very easy to get caught up in day to day life. It’s very easy to be distracted by the things of this world… entertainment, things we want, things we want to accomplish, people we deal with, but let us strive to keep an eternal perspective.

A perspective that keeps in mind our ultimate destination. Our ultimate home is with Jesus forever and ever, in an existence far greater that anything we can possible fathom.

Keeping that greater perceptive in mind, makes little day to day things that may otherwise bother us (what someone says or does, etc.) lose its impact on our emotions.

If you won the lottery this morning, and later in the day someone cuts you off in traffic or says something negative to you, do you think you would care? No, you would probably shout “Glory Hallelujah” and keep on your way because you eyes and mind are on something greater, a greater goal, a greater destination on the horizon.

How much more so should we have such a perspective in our day to day lives, knowing that winning the biggest lotto the world has ever seen, is dirt compared to what God has in store for His believers.

Keep an eternal perspective in mind! Keep your thoughts set higher! And it will help keep you from getting pulled down by people and situations that try to pull you down.

God’s goodness is greater that we can imagine, both in this life and beyond. Keep that in mind and watch little irritating situations that may come your way roll of you like rain.

You’re loved!
