Don’t let your mood decide

There are some days that are just hard days…
Days you just want behind you…
Draining days.

And on days like that, it’s easy to not be in the mood to praise God.
You don’t feel energized.
You’re tired.

While understandable, it’s not Biblical.
Praise isn’t just for good days…
And good moods.

He’s just as worthy every day…
Regardless of our day.

But, how do we cultivate a heart of praise on hard days?
Start with honesty.

Tell God exactly how you’re feeling.
Express yourself.

Just open up, and let it out.
Give it to Him.

That’s what He wants.
(1 Peter 5:7)

There’s rest and release in Him.
Give Him your mood.
Give Him your day.

He’s not to be set aside on hard days…
He’s to be clung to…
He’s help.

“There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor.”
(Deuteronomy 33:26, NLT)

When you acknowledge Him, despite your mood…
You’re tapping into His strength.
You’re activating faith.

When you remind yourself of His faithfulness, His goodness, His love…
You’re stirring up praise in your heart.
You’re giving it a spark.

So, when you’re not in the mood to praise…
Just try speaking His truths…
Speak His promises.

Remind yourself of the times He’s been there for you…
The times He’s made a way.

You do that, and you’ll feel a shift in your mood.
Your focus will move from your problems, to your Problem Solver…
From your feelings, to your Heavenly Father…
From your hurt, to your Healer.

You’ll release stress.
You’ll have peace.

Not because something immediately changed with your situation…
But because your eyes lifted to your source.
You gave Him rightful attention.
You found rest in Him.

You aligned your mind to Him.
You reminded yourself that He’s bigger than your obstacles.
You gave yourself a boost of truth.
You suppressed distractions.
You choose Him.

So, my encouragement to today…
Exercise your faith even on days you don’t feel like it.
You’ll find special strength…
You’ll find help.

Whatever is going on, God is greater.
He knows you by name.
He loves you.

He will take care of you.
Give Him praise.

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
(Psalm 34:1, NKJV)
