Children

Have you ever noticed the way children live?

Their eyes wide with wonder…
Their hearts light with laughter…
Their steps full of adventure.

They’re not weighed down by worry.
They’re not shackled by stress.

Children don’t need perfect circumstances to find joy.
A cardboard box becomes a castle.
A stick becomes a sword.

Their joy isn’t tied to possessions.
It’s tied to perspective.

But somewhere along the way as we age, that perspective becomes a part of our past.

We stop enjoying what’s simple and start stressing over what we think is missing.

Yet Jesus tells us to be childlike.
(Matthew 18:3)

He doesn’t say childish.
But childlike.

Childish…
That’s immaturity.

Childlike…
That’s simplicity.
That’s trust.

That’s being unclouded by doubt.
That’s faith.

That’s not worrying about tomorrow.
That’s joy today.

That’s sleep that’s sweet.

That’s what God wants for us.
That’s childlike.

It’s rooted in the confidence of being taken care of.
You’re taken care of.

Let me say it again…
You’re taken care of.

Your Heavenly Father is always with you.
He’ll never leave you.

When you need help…
Like a child that runs to a parent…
Run to God.

He’s comfort.
He’s help.

He’s everything you need.
He’s freedom.

It’s a gift to live childlike.
Let’s unwrap it.
Let’s live it.
