Kindness

When someone’s been rude to you…
It’s easy to have a reflex of retaliation and anger.
It’s easy to want to serve back the same.

But the trigger of it…
Is rarely the seed of it.

It could have nothing to do with you, and it’s simply a result of something they’re going through.
That’s often the case.

It could have everything to do with you, and the aim of it is to irritate you to get a rise out of you.
They may not like your faith.

Either way, they don’t deserve control of your emotions.
Either way, it’s rooted in their issues.

So, when you’re the recipient of rudeness…
Let it run into a wall of kindness.

That’s not a response of weakness…
It’s one of Biblical strength.

When you’re kind to those who oppose you…
The Bible tells us that you make them feel shameful.
(Romans 12:20)

So, when rudeness is directed at you…
Pour on the kindness, and you’ll pour on the shame.
That’s Biblical power.

That’s empowering wisdom.
That’s a perspective that will strip you of the desire to retaliate in kind, and instead be kind.

There are no better ways…
Than God’s ways.

Let’s live those ways.
