Sickness wants to feel like a guest you have to host.
It wants a chair at your table.
It wants a name in your mouth.
It wants you to introduce it…
“This is my…”
“I’m dealing with…”
“I have…”
But, sickness isn’t your spouse.
It’s not your identity.
It’s not your name.
You don’t have to give it the welcome…
It wants.
You’re a child of God…
Before you’re a patient.
You’re seated with Christ…
Before you’re seated in a waiting room.
You’re His…
Before you’re anything else.
(Ephesians 2:6)
So, today…
You denounce it.
The diagnosis…
You denounce it!
The fear…
You denounce it!
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
-2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV
You speak life over your body.
You speak truth over your thoughts.
You speak Jesus over the room.
You’re not denying what’s real.
You’re declaring Who’s stronger.
You’re clinging to Christ.
Come on now!
Sickness is real.
Pain is real.
There’s no denying that.
But, there’s no denying that God is greater!
That God is a healer!
The payment is paid.
“… by His stripes we are healed.”
-Isaiah 53:5, NKJV
That’s a finished sentence.
You stand on it.
So, when fear tries to whisper…
You say, no.
When sickness tries to speak…
You say, no.
You give your body to the Healer.
You give your worry to the One who already wore it.
(1 Peter 5:7)
You give your tomorrow to the One who’s already there.
You may have a treatment plan.
You may have an appointment on the calendar.
You may have a body that’s tired and a mind that’s been turning since 3 AM.
But!
You also have a King who hasn’t lost a battle.
You also have a Father who hasn’t taken His eyes off you.
You also have a Savior who said, “It is finished.”
(John 19:30)
That’s louder than any test result.
That’s heavier than any prognosis.
That’s the truth you stand on!
Sickness doesn’t get the last word in your life.
Jesus does.
So, today…
You denounce sickness!
You announce Jesus.
