Feelings

There are things we should do…
We don’t do.

Why don’t we?
We don’t feel like it.

Well, let me remind you…
Your feelings don’t control you.
They’re not the boss of you.

Feelings just want what’s comfortable.
Feelings want what’s easy.

But that’s not what God tells us to pursue.
He tells us to run the race in such a way that we win the prize.
(1 Corinthians 9:24)

That requires commitment and consistency.
That requires putting feelings in the back seat…
They’re not going to drive you.

I don’t know what that means for you.
I don’t know if it’s eating habits, exercise habits.
I don’t know if it’s attending church.

You know what it means for you.
You know what you should be doing…
Instead of delaying.

God doesn’t want you to live a life of convenience.
He wants you to live a life of endurance.
(Hebrews 12:1-2)

Endurance comes through persistence.
Persistence is a decision…
Not a feeling.

So, let’s do our best to do what’s best…
Even when we don’t feel like it.

You’ll bear fruit from it.
(Galatians 6:9)
