Dependable

The world will tell you…
Depend on yourself.

The world will tell you…
Depend on money.

But that’s like wearing a weight vest.
It’s heavy to carry.

It’s draining to put everything, about everything, on your shoulders.

We were never created to do that.
That’s not what God wants.

He tells us to cast it all on Him.
(1 Peter 5:7)

He wants us anxiety-free.
He wants us trusting.
(Psalm 37:5)

He wants us looking to Him.
He wants to help us.
(Isaiah 41:10)

But it’s so easy to get distracted with situations.
There’s always something.

Those situations can capture our attention.
Whether directly impacting us.
Or those around us.

Our mind wants to solve it.
We want a solution.

But our starting point shouldn’t be self.
It should be Christ.

Prayer shouldn’t be the last step.
It should be the first.

It’s not weakness.
It’s strength.

It’s realigning your mind to truth.
It’s reminding yourself that you’re not on your own.
You’re a child of God.

You’re provided for.
You’re protected.

You have the hand of God on your life.
You can live in confidence.

You don’t have to fear about this or that…
That’s what the world does.

We’re in the world…
But we’re not of the world.
We’re set apart.
(John 15:19)

We have privileges…
Privileges the world doesn’t understand.
Privileges the world can’t see.
(1 Cor. 2:14)

When you’re worried…
Remember who your Father is.
He created it all.

When you’re worried…
Remember that you’re not on your own.
God will work it out.
(Romans 8:28)

Nothing will ever change that.
Because nothing will ever change…
The Word of God.

It’s unbreakable.
Its promises.

The only thing that changes…
Is our focus.

And when it’s on self…
There’s stress.

When it’s on Christ…
There’s comfort.

So, let’s redirect our focus…
When there’s fear.

Like a reflex…
Let’s look to God.
Let’s trust.

It’s what’ll enable us to live a life that fully accepts and experiences His gift of peace.
(John 14:27)

That’s what He wants for us.
Let’s enjoy it.
