We want control.
We want to know what’s next.
We want certainty.
That’s human nature.
But life doesn’t work that way.
It has unknowns.
Some pleasant.
Some painful.
No one wants unknowns.
But it’s reality.
We can fight that fact.
But that just elevates anxiety.
It’s not healthy.
Or we can accept the gift we’ve been given…
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
-John 14:27, NLT
And…
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
-1 Peter 5:7, NLT
And…
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
-Isaiah 41:10, NLT
And…
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
-Romans 8:28, NLT
If God said it…
We can hold on to it.
We can trust.
There’s release that comes from it.
There’s freedom.
If it’s hard for you to do that…
Think of the times He’s been there for you.
Think of how He’s worked in your life.
Remind yourself…
God’s been there before…
He’ll be there again.
And again.
And again.
And again.
Because He’s consistent.
(Hebrews 13:8)
Because He’s truth.
(John 14:6)
So, whatever it is before you…
Whatever it is that brings worry…
God’s already there.
He knows what you need.
He will help.
So, let’s exhale the burden of figuring everything out.
Let’s exhale anxiety.
Let’s use our abilities as best we can.
Let’s be wise.
But, let’s leave everything else with the One who spoke everything into existence.
Because if He created the world, and everything in it…
We don’t need to know the future.
He already has us taken care of in it.
