Bright map

There are times when life can feel hectic.
Unpredictable things happen.

It can cause chaos…
Be it in your life or in the world.
It can create fear.

You can go from feeling good to feeling fear just by looking at or listening to something.

And in a world where there’s instant news about everything, it can feel like there are issues everywhere.
It can endlessly fuel fear.

But when the winds blow…
Look at the trees.

The ones with deep roots feel the wind, but their roots keep them firmly planted.

And so it is with our faith.

When the winds of the world and life blow…
Does your faith have deep roots?

Just like a tree…
Those roots don’t grow overnight.
It takes time.

Just like a tree…
Those roots need to be nourished…
To be strengthened.

That nourishment comes from giving God priority.
It comes from making time with Him not an afterthought, but your first thought.

Every time you feed your faith with God’s Word…
You’re shining sunlight on it.

Every time you communicate with Him through prayer…
You’re enriching the soil of your faith.

And day by day, that nourishment grows the roots of your faith – deeper and deeper.

So that over time…
When wild things happen…
You’re not shaken.

You know your roots are deep.
You know you’re taken care of by Christ…
No matter what happens.

The more you know His Word…
The more you can lean on His Word.
It’s dependable.

Nothing in this life is guaranteed…
Except God’s promises.

It’s what we can hold on to.
It’s unchanging.

It keeps peace in our hearts…
When the world is wild.

That’s the beauty of Christianity.
It’s everything we need.

When everyone else is looking at a map, in the dark…
They don’t know where to go.

We have a map, that’s bright.
We have clear steps.

What does that map tell us?
Stay close to Jesus.
