Rudeness

When someone is rude to you the immediate emotional reaction is to respond in rudeness.

Give them a dose of their own medicine.
See how they like it.

But responding in kind doesn’t result in anything but escalated emotions and anger.
(Proverbs 15:1)

It may feel like you’re defending yourself, but you’re leaving yourself an emotional wreck.

Your fuming won’t stop after the conversation…
It will spill over into the rest of your day.

That’s giving that person undeserved power…
The power to disrupt your day.

But, what’s a way to keep your emotions in check?
Change your perspective.

It’s easy to take rudeness personally, but it likely has little to do with you, and everything to do with something they’re going through.

People have burdens, and those burdens cause pain, and that pain births rudeness.

You just happened to be the recipient.

If you keep that perspective in mind…
That hurt people hurt…

You’ll find that your emotions aren’t easily elevated.
You’ll find yourself more compassionate.
You’ll find yourself more forgiving.

You’ll find yourself thankful that you’re not dealing with whatever they’re going through.

Your day will carry on without the baggage of that conversation weighing you down.

That’s a way to have a wonderful day!
Live that way! 🙂
