A thankful heart is a happy heart

A thankful heart is a happy heart.

People chase money to be fulfilled, but it’s a grateful heart that leads to a greater level of happiness.

Live with a thankful mindset.

See your blessings in the seemingly little things, and it will change how you see everything.

I don’t do this all the time, but I turned the faucet on the other day and I thought, “Thank you, Lord, for clean running water.”

It’s something that naturally happens periodically as I try to be aware of my blessings, both big and small.

I went to bed the other night and it was freezing outside, and I had the thought, “Thank you, Lord, for a warm bed.”

Little moments of recognizing seemingly little things like this will make such a positive difference in how you feel.

The more you stay conscious of your “little” blessings, the more a habit of being aware of all your blessings will develop, and it will serve as a constant flow of joy to your heart.

It will provide a continual boost to your level of happiness that does not cost a dime, and does not require you to do anything.

You can get up tomorrow and go about your day with your mind consumed with whatever you need to do, or as your day begins, and progresses you can have short moments of reflection and praise that are effortless, but will make your day so much better.

“Lord, thank you that I have a job that provides income.”
“Lord, thank you that I can take a warm shower.”
“Lord, thank you… ”

Try for 3 of these moments today.

3 little moments that you stop to recognize and praise God for.
3 moments thanking God for things that you’d surely miss if they weren’t there.

Do that, and you’ll smile more.
You’ll feel better.

And not only will you feel better, but your joy will spill over into other peoples lives, and they’ll be happy to be around you because of how joy filled you are.

You’ll be friendlier.
You’ll make more friends.
You’ll benefit in so many ways.

3 times.

Try it not only today, but try it daily.

Try to thank God for your ability to do something, use something, or for something that you have that you’d miss if it were gone.

If you want to do it 5 times daily, great.
If you want to do it 10 times daily, even better.

The point isn’t a certain number.
The point isn’t to have gratitude every moment you turn around.
That’s unrealistic.

The point is to dial the awareness of the good things in your life up a bit, the things that are easy to take for granted, things that so many other people in the world wish they had or could do.

It’s to cultivate a consistent habit of thankfulness that will give you consistent happiness.

Take a small step today.
Try it with 3 things as a starting point.

It will change your attitude.
It will change your outlook.

Step into that perspective now.
You’ll be thankful you did.
